Carnival in Rio

What comes to your mind first when you hear the carnival? Or what do you associate with the city of Rio de Janeiro. Yesterday you read about Carnival in Peru from Leeloo . and today I represent to your attention, perhaps the most famous carnival in the world — the Carnival in Rio de Janeiro.

The carnival in Rio de Janeiro officially begins on the Friday before Ash Wednesday and is the main event of the city. This colourful parade of Samba schools belongs to the world’s largest holidays.

The carnival begins when the mayor of Rio de Janeiro peredam the key to the city to king Momo, the mythical figure, the reigning carnival.

Milton Junior, who was elected this year’s king Momo, the mythical ruler of the carnival and the mayor of Rio de Janeiro Eduardo PAES hold the key to the city for the official launch of the 5-day carnival. According to experts, the carnival will spend $ 640 million, and used it to 250,000 workers.

The carnival is organized by the Ministry of tourism of the town with the League of Samba Schools (port. Liga Independente das Escolas de Samba do Rio de Janeiro (LIESA)), as well as television networks that broadcast the show.

It should be noted that now the Brazilian carnival in Rio de Janeiro was transformed from a confusing religious holiday in the most powerful tool to attract tourists. Tickets for carnival of the reach of most Brazilians, so they tend to get on sight all possible ways (many not for enjoying the holiday, and to plunder the hapless tourist or compatriot). For a more relaxing visit to the Brazilian carnival, for example, in Rio De Janeiro, it is necessary to buy tickets in a special VIP boxes, each of which costs an average of $ 1,500. For the money you get: drinks, food, carnival set (shirt, bag, napkin), personal protection, storage space, separate toilet, TV with DVD, private transfer to the venue and back, as well as, in some cases, SPA, massage, etc… Still have a “budget” option — space to open the boxes the sambadrome (from 40-50 dollars per person). But they usually are sold in 12 pieces (whole bed). Therefore, to buy these places need to have a massive “group of edinomushlennikov”, which is unlikely to have an ordinary tourist in Brazil. Usual place of Sapucai sambadrome in Rio de Janeiro are characterized by: the lack of good visibility, lack of Parking and the normal (safe) toilet, the danger of being robbed, etc…

So, if you can’t find 12 people money for good tickets, it is better to look at Brazilian carnival on TV or to go to a small town. Sincere joy and kindness of the local people to do the insufficient brightness of the costumes of the local carnival, and Samba dancing in small towns is not worse than in Rio de Janeiro.
